The Responsibility
of Christians16
[1 Timothy 2:1-7]
/ Anne's Faith Column
/ By Pastor Priscilla
The Bible tells us
that we Christians living
on this earth have
a responsibility
to pray for
all those who live
in the world
and tell them the
gospel of salvation.
When we pray,
God first asks us to
pray for those who are
in high position
and in authority.
This is because when
the national situation
is stable and secure,
individuals can relax
and maintain a peaceful
and reverent life.
Also, we should not
spare intercession.
As we pray, we should
become instruments
of peace, from ourselves
to our neighbors,
who are in trouble,
and to be loyal workers
who humbly and faithfully
take over the duties
of the priesthood.
This is because Jesus Christ
is a royal priest, a reconciler,
and an excellent mediator.
Our identities have
been completely changed
into children of God
since we received Jesus
as the Savior.
Now there is something
we should remember.
It is that we, who have
become the kingdom
of God and a holy people,
must follow the Lord
and pursue a life without
lack as reconcilers
and mediators.
This is even more
so because we have
been already united
with Christ.
Meanwhile,
God mentioned the
responsibility of
evangelism to us
through
“Apostle Paul”.
Preach the Word,
being prepared
in season
and out of season,
and those who have
ears, will hear!
We must hold on
to the word of the
Lord and do not be
easily discouraged,
but follow the word
of the Lord's promises
and preach the word.
'Jesus Christ' came
to see 'Peter,'
who lost his duty
as a disciple and
made a mistake.
We should note that
Jesus reminded Peter
of the mission of
'the fisher of men'
and that he
commanded Peter to
“Take care of my sheep”
and “Feed my sheep”.
Furthermore,
we ourselves, who
want to follow the
Lord today,
must break away from
the framework
of strong egos
and personal ideas,
and become a life
of complete devotion
to the Lord.
However, there is
one thing we should
remember.
It is that God never
uses us when we
volunteer to do
God's work.
Rather, when we are
faced with somthing
unexpected or
when we feel the limit
of our ability in the
despair of life,
we finally seek
the face of God
and we can
find ourselves
losing confidence
and acknowledging
our weakness.
Just then, the good God
keeps watching and
seeing our attitude
from the beginning,
and when it is
most appropriate,
he himself calls
his beloved children
to be his instruments
for the work of God.
Then, only after
training them, God
gives them new powers
and uses them as His
"instruments of
righteousness."
We should remember
that all this work depends
absolutely on the
will of God.
If so, what is the right
posture that we,
as children of God,
should take before God's
impression and work
s take place?
1) It is to pray to God,
not behaving rashly.
2) It is to prepare the
heart purely through
obedience.
3) It is to endure the
proper times humbly
and patiently.
Therefore, today
we must reconstitute
the concept of prayer
and evangelism,
which is the responsibility
of Christians, with a joyful
heart rather than binding
it with the law.
At this time,
we do not follow
“Jesus Christ”
to receive human
success or simple
blessings,
but pray and go out
into the world with
the responsibility
of God's people.
In addition, we must
faithfully fulfill the
'role of light and salt'
to boldly preach the
Gospel in each
of our lives.
Prayer
Merciful Lord!
Please grant us
the 'spirit of prayer'.
Please give us all the
“spirit of purity”
so that we can become
the kingdom of God
and a holy people.
Also, give us the
boldness
and generosity
to overcome
the world!
- Amen
