Commandment3

[Matt 22:34-46] 

 / Anne's Faith Column

'Love the Lord your God

with all your heart and

with all your soul and

 with all your mind.

 

 

This is the first and

 greatest commandment.'

(Matt 22:34-46) 

 

 

Today the Lord wants me

to love Him, and obey

to Him.

 

 

But, when I find it difficult

to follow the first commandment

of the Lord, how embarrased I am!

 

 

But, as the prophet Isaiah

has already written in the Bible,

 

 

'For my thoughts

 are not your thoughts...'

 

 

The Lord tells me to love

  Heavenly Father deeply,

from the heart.

 

 

I confess that I serve

the Lord with the

determination

of martyrdom.

 

 

But, I sometimes find myself

 acting hastily before the Lord.

Habitually I try to judge

the situation

 

 

so easily every moment

according to my experience

and persistence.

 

 

In fact, how many times 

I try to persuade my

father with my will!

 

 

Then why on earth

will this happen to me?

 

 

This means that I love

Heavenly Father only

with my lips?

 

 

In reality, does it mean

I don't love Heavenly

Father heartily?!

 

 

 'What a wretched man I am!

Who will rescue me from

 this body of death?'

 

 

My inner being tries to

follow the law of the

Holy Spirit

 

 

but  my sinful nature

goes against the Holy Spirit

and follow the law of sin.

 

 

These two laws fightin

my spirit every day!

 

 

'I die every day!'

 

 

Like the confession

of the apostle Paul

who sighs deeply for

his weakness, 

 

 

the closer I go before

the Lord, the more

I find my faults and sins.

 

 

I'd rather cover my

face with my hands.

 

 

The Lord says again:

 

 

'Love the Lord your God

with all your heart and

with all your soul and

with all your mind.

 

 

This is the first and

greatest commandment.'

 

 

The guidance

of the Holy Spirit!

That's what I really need

painfully in my life.

 

 

Therefore, once again

I put away pretense

before the Lord

 

 

and I'm looking forward

to a spiritual encounter

with the Lord with innocent

 

 

and  honestheart

just like a child.

 

 

Then how do I  have

to deal with it?

 

 

1) Whatever happens to me,

big or trivial, I must pray,

and ask my father how

I can solve that.

 

 

2) Help me love the Lord 

deeply, from the bottom

of my heart, not by head.

 

 

Prayer

 

 

Dear Father!

I repent loving the world

and me more than You.

 

 

Lead me on the right way.

I want to love You more.

 

 

With a pure heart

I long for You, Lord.

Do not leave me.

 

 

 

Amen
