/ My Strength Is In You!

[Judges 6:11-16]

“The angel of the LORD

came and sat down

under the oak

 

 

in Ophrah that belonged

to Joash the Abiezrite,

 

 

where his son Gideon

was threshing wheat in a

winepress to keep it from

the Midianites.

 

 

When the angel of the LORD

appeared to Gideon, he said,

"The LORD is with you,

mighty warrior."

 

 

"But sir," Gideon replied,

"if the LORD is with us, why 

has all this happened to us?

 

 

Where are all his wonders t

hat our fathers told us

about when they said, '

 

 

Did not the LORD bring us

up out of Egypt?'

 

 

But now the LORD has

abandoned us and put us

into the hand of Midian."

 

 

The LORD turned

to him and said,

 

 

"Go in the strength you

have and save Israel out

of Midian's hand.

 

 

Am I not sending you?"

"But Lord , " Gideon asked,

"how can I save Israel?

 

 

My clan is the weakest

in Manasseh, and I am the

least in my family.

 

 

The LORD answered,

"I will be with you,

and you will strike down

all the Midianites together.

”(Judge 6:11-16)

 

 

God always watches over

his chosen people.

 

 

And

it is his right time,

He calls the people

 

 

as his instruments from

all kinds of situation,

and circumstances,

 

 

riches or poverty

old or young.

 

 

This passages tells me

how God appeared

to Gideon,

 

 

who recognised the

presence of God and God’s 

supernatural power.

 

 

It is amazing. 

 

 

Truly God is the sovereign Lord!

“When the angel of the Lord

appeared to Gideon” in verse 12.

 

 

He encouraged him

as a mighty warrior.

 

 

It was really a challenge

to him, because he

was a very weak,

 

 

humble and common man.

He was threshing wheat

in a winepress to keep it f

rom the Midianites

 

 

because he was not a

brave person. 

 

 

The Bible says

“for my thoughts are

not your thoughts,

 

 

neither are your

ways my ways…”

(Isa 55:8)

 

 

God encouraged Gideon

by sending the angel o

f the Lord.

 

 

How did God raise him up?

That is a very important question. 

 

 

When the angel spoke to him,

Gideon was deeply nervous

and distrusted God.

 

 

But he encouraged

Gideon and said

 

 

“Don’t fear,

for I am with you,

don’t be dismayed for

I am your God.

 

 

I will strengthen  you

and help you I will uphold you

with my righteous right hand.

 

 

Therefore fear not for

I have redeemed you:

 

 

I have summoned you

by name: you are mine!”

(Isa 41:10, 43:1-3)

Likewise, one day

His right time the Holy

Spirit said to me.

 

 

”Go! In the strength you

have and join to save N.Z. out

of the evil spirit’s hand.

 

 

That is your sending

area for mission.”

 

 

He chose me although

I was still afraid like Gideon,

because I was the least

in my family.

 

 

“If you trust me and

follow me, you can do

everything in Jesus Christ.

 

 

Do you believe that?

I will be with you

forever Priscilla!”

 

 

“Am I not sending you?” 

 

 

Now, I recognised Him

and I rejoice in the Lord.

 

 

Yes, Lord my hope

and vision is in you.

 

 

My strength and

dream is in you.

 

 

My future

and life is in you!
