The Wisdom of Saints10
(The Wisdom That
Comes From Heaven)
[Jam 3 : 13-18]
/ Anne's Faith Column
/ By Pastor Priscilla
"Who is wise and
understanding
among you?
Let him show it by
his good life, by deeds
done in the humility
that comes from wisdom."
(Jam 3:13)
When we have a life
of a saint, we really
need wisdom.
The Lord has known
this and given us the
word of God.
Matthew 10 : 16 says:
"I am sending you out l
ike sheep among wolves.
Therefore be as shrewd
as snakes and as
innocent as doves. "
(Matt 10:16)
Today I'd like to
speak about the wisdom
that comes from God.
It is completely
distinguished
from man's wisdom.
Once we have the
wisdom from God,
we must always keep
it with faith so that
it may not be changed
into worldly wisdom.
There are two kinds
of wisdom.
One is the wisdom
from man, and the other
is the wisdom from God.
God knows that we,
who will go through
this rough world,
need wisdom.
So he has already
allowed the word of
comfort to be given to
those who lack wisdom
as follows.
According to
James 1:5
"If any of you lacks wisdom,
he should ask God,
who gives generously
to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to him."
(James 1:5)
The wisdom that comes
from selfish greed
makes not only others,
but also ourselves give
a bad influence to the
society where we are.
It's wrong and not wise
to condemn others
who are disappointing
and beyond our
comprehension.
And also
over estimating
our own wisdom
or abilities,
it's not advisable
to brag about ourselves,
and try to reign
over others.
That's why there
are times that we think it
better for such a person
not to have wisdom.
However the wisdom
that comes from God
is pure and has
holy motives,
it enables us to lead
rewarding and
fruitful lives.
Especially in our human
relationships, we need
appropriate wisdom
to each situation.
It's a significant thing
in our lives that in
a wise relationship
we can give overflowing
joy and peace to individuals
or our socieety.
Look! The Lord has
already had the
correct answer:
According to
James 3:17
"But the wisdom
that comes from heaven
is first of all pure;
then peace-loving,
considerate, submissive,
full of mercy and
good fruit, impartial
and sincere."
(James 3:17)
That's why we can see,
through the fruit caused
by the wisdom,
whether it comes from
heaven or from the world.
If it's the wisdom that
comes from God,
it will guide us into
nine kinds of the fruit
of the Spirit:
love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness
and self-control.
Even if we live our lives
with the wisdom from God,
there is something
we're sure to know.
1) Be considerate
of the other party.
Even if we work with him
in good motives, we
need to consider his
situation and position.
We should keep in mind
that when we ignore it
and use wisdom to our will,
we can hurt him or ourselves.
2) Depending on the situation,
we should ask God
for proper wisdom
but we should not
judge all things with
worldly wisdom.
So we must ask the Holy Spirit
for the wisdom that comes
from God, not from world.
And we will have to pray
that we can distinguish
the fromer from the latter.
For this, we must
put arrogance, greed,
and false acts out of
mind and cut off
their roots in faith.
Prayer
Lord!
The communion
and fellowship of the
Saints are very important.
And in the communion
with saints, we really
need the wisdom
that comes from God.
However, even if there
is a good spiritual training
in us, there is a possibility
that we may break the
beautiful community
relationship in God
because
of the lack of wisdom,
and the weakness from
the personality defect.
And even if
our inner beings
want to have good
relationships with our
fellow believers,
we also commit a large
mistake that we can not
be turned forever
in our lives.
O Lord!
With the wisdom from God,
please give us the power,
courage, ability,
and purity to carry
ourselves well on earth.
Amen
