Those Who Prepare
For That Day7
[Matt 24:15-28]
/ Anne's Faith Column
/ By Pastor Priscilla
" For false Christs and
false prophets will appear
and perform great signs
and miracles to deceive
even the elect-
-if that were possible."
(Matt 24:24)
Whenever we hear that
the last hour has come,
on one hand,
we look forward
to the Second Coming
of the Lord,
on the other hand,
we look back on ourselves,
who have never done
anything for the Lord.
In our faith life,
when we sometimes
give priority to busy
service over worship,
there are times
when our souls long
for the Lord because
we do not feel the
grace of God.
Jesus says:
"'Love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind,"
but when we ask ourselves
what we are so devoting
our time and passion to,
we only get ashamed
before God.
Through today’s words,
Jesus prophesies about
the destruction of
Jerusalem
and tells his disciples
how to prepare for it and
His Second Coming.
Today Jesus also tells us
that great distress will
come, and reminds us
to follow Him.
However, we make
excuses to Him and
hesitate to follow Him.
Looking forward to
the Second Coming
of the Lord,
we must keep watch
because we do not know
on what day He will come.
And also we must
stand guard spiritually
so that the devil can't
steal and kill and
destroy us.
In the last times,
we know that the sprit
of falsehood tries to
deceive us who are the
children of God.
What do we have to do
to keep us from the
sprit of falsehood?
1) First of all, we must
rebuild our faith
in the Lord.
And we need to
look back on ourselves
and re -establish our
relationship with
God as well.
2) To prepare for the
future to come,
we must watch and
pray in order not
to be deceived.
3) we must do our best
in the role given to us
and live faithfully,
as the somebody says:
"Even if the earth
is destroyed tomorrow,
I will plant one apple
tree today."
Prayer
Lord!
You know
our weakness
and do your best
to save us.
Therefore we must
follow Jesus outside
the camp, bearing the
disgrace he bore.
Lord! Please help us
to keep today's message
in mind and also let us
praise your victory.
O Lord!
Be with us all the time,
and let our bodies
be holy temples
and keep us
from being deceived
by the sprit of falsehood.
Amen
