    The Religious Life

    That God Desires8

    [Jam 1:19-27]

    / Anne's Faith Column

    / By Pastor Priscilla

    In order to have

    a religious life that

    God desires,

    we must listen to

    the word of God

    and put it into action.

    In everything this is

    because it is much more

    important  to hear and act

    from God's point of view

    than do so from

    a person-centered

    perspective.

    In the Bible James

    teaches us when we

    don' t practice

     what we preach,

    we deceive ourselves

    and our religion is

    worthless.

    "But the man who

    looks intently into

    the perfect law

    that gives freedom,

    and continues

    to do this, not

    forgetting what

    he has heard,

    but doing it

    --he will be blessed

    in what he does."

     ( Jam 1:25)

    In the Bible

    James says

    like this.

    But I wonder if we

    are practicing the

    law in our lives.

    We think we can

    solve all things

    ourselves,

    but in the end

    we cannot deny that

    we live by God's grace

    free of charge.

    In fact, we are not

    religious at all

    before God.

    The apostle

    Paul says.

    "So, if you think

    you are standing firm,

    be careful that you

    don't fall!"

    (1Cor 10:12)

    At this time today,

    his words are sharply

     penetrating my heart.

    'Not being religious!'

    When does it

     come to us?

    It comes to us when

    we fail to manage our

    spiritual states in our

    own inner beings.

    And also it comes

    to us when we become

    helpless due to our

    religious laziness.

    The Bible say;

    "Religion that God

    our Father accepts as

    pure and faultless is this:

    to look after orphans

    and widows in their

    distress

    and to keep

    oneself from being

    polluted by the world."

    (James 1:27)

    Then what do

    we have to do to

    have a religious life?

    The Bible teaches

    us to guard our hearts.

    According to the

     Psalm 4:23

    "Above all else, guard

your heart, for it is the

    wellspring of life."

     (Psa 4:23)

    So here are some ways

    to have a religious

    life God desires.

    1) We must be close

    to praise,  prayer, and

    the Word of God always,

    which are the foundation

    of the religious life

    to keep ourselves

    from being polluted

    by the world.

    2) We must all the time

    ask God to lead us

    to realize what the

    religion God our

    Father accepts is.

    3) We must realize

how to live a Christian life,

which is the role of the light

    and salt of the world,

    and must put care

    and giving to needy

    into practice.

    And also we must

    follow and advance

    with Jesus who sacrificed

    himself for our sins.

    Prayer

    Lord!

    In order to have

    a religious life that

    You accept and

    keep ourselves from

    being polluted

    by the world,

    please keep our souls,

    bodies and hearts

    in You.

    Amen.
