    E. C. D.T.C 2021. 4. 28. 11:10

    Calling                           Moru

     A Life of Evangelism18

    [Acts 1 : 8]

     / Ephphatha Discipleship

     Training (Basic Course)

    / By Pastor Priscilla

    "But you will receive

    power when the Holy

    Spirit comes on you;

    and you

    will be my witnesses

    in Jerusalem,

    and in all Judea

    and Samaria, and to

    the ends of the earth."

    (Acts 1: 8)

    In particular,

    this textbook is an

    educational book

    designed for beginners

of life of faith or those

    who believe in Jesus

    not very long.

    Do you know

    why we try to educate

    those people abou

    t evangelism?

    It is because evangelism

is not a mission of those

    who have believed in Jesus

    for many years,

    but a mission that

    all believers should do.

Above all, it is a task

    of great blessing.

    Therefore, it is

    important for each one

    of us to correctly realize

    our mission for evangelism

    as a disciple

    and also a Christian

    to imitate Jesus.

    Also, we should do

    our best to cooperate

    in guiding unbelievers

    to the Lord as Jesus

     commanded us to do.

    So today, we are

    going to take a careful

    look at the contents

    below in three units.

    1. What is evangelism?

    Evangelism is tell

    unbelievers about the

    good news of the

    Lord Jesus

    and guide each one

    of them into the

    way to salvation.

    (John 4 : 28-29)

    Evangelism is to proclaim

    the gospel to regardless

    of age or class without

    limiting the area from

    near to far.

    (Acts 11 : 19-20)

    2. Why do we must

    proclaim the gospel

    of the Lord?

    We must do that

    so that  unbelievers

    may turn from sin, walk

    in the right path,

    and return to God.

    They really need

to realize the will of God

    who wants them to

    understand the truth,

    to realize what sin is,

    and to turn from the

    evil path

    and to go on the

    right and good path

    by faith in Jesus.

    (2 Timothy 2:4)

    That is why we must

    proclaim the gospel to

    whether rich or poor.

    (Rom 1 : 14).

    And we have nothing

    to boast about when

    we proclaim Jesus.

    That's because we

    who have received Jesus

    and received salvation

    were once sinners

    as well,

    and are indebted to love.

    (1 Corin 9 : 16)

    We should never

    forget the fact!

    In addition, we should

    be grateful that the

    gospel of Jesus,

    delivered through

    his disciples, has

come to us as it is.

    Each one of us

    must become a disciple

    of Jesus who strives

    to proclaim gospel

    humbly and think

    of Jesus, who is always

    with us and watching

    over us until the end

    day of the world.

     (Matt 28 : 20)

    God wants the Word

    of evangelism to be

    fully proclaimed to those

    who do not know about

    the gospel of Jesus

to the ends of the earth.

    Therefore, we must

    clearly recognize that

    God has ganted each

    one of us the strength

    and power today

so that each one of us

    may guide more and

    more people into the

     right path of the gospel.

    "But the Lord stood

at my side and gave me

    strength, so that through

    me the message might

    be fully proclaimed

    and all the Gentiles

    might hear it.

    And I was delivered

     from the lion's mouth."

    (2 Timothy  4 : 17)

    “Those who are wise

    will shine like the

    brightness of the

    heavens,

    and those who lead

    many to righteousness,

    like the stars for ever

    and ever.”

    (Dan 12 : 3)

    (Ex : 1)

    (The case of the

    beggar Lazarus

    and the rich man)

    The clear reason

    we should proclaim

    the gospel.

    (Luke 16 : 19-31)

    3. How should

      we evangelize?

    1) Select a targeted

     person to evangelize.

    You must pray that

    first select one person

    to which you should

    preach the gospel

    of the Lord.

    2) You must keep

    praying for the person.

    If each one of you

    come up with a person

    to evangelize, you must

    ask God to save him.

    (Ex : 2)

     Lydia

    A woman named Lydia,

    a dealer in purple cloth

     from the city of Thyatira

    One day she was

    sitting by the river;

    and then she met the

    apostle Paul, who was

    passing through the area.

    She opened her heart

    and listened to Paul's

    message and was

    transformed.

    By receiving Jesus

    and accepting the Gospel,

    she later became

    a woman who played

    the role of establishing

    the first church in Europe.

    (Acts 16 : 14)

    3) Make time to meet

    the targeted person.

    You have to take time

    to make an opportunity

    to meet him.

    (John 1 : 45)

    4) What do you need

    to do when we

    meet him?

    You must become

    a messenger who

    proclaim the correct

    gospel.

    (John 1 : 46, 4 : 29)

    5) You need regular

     hard work.

    It is important to

    greet, and look after

    the targeted person

    to evangelize with

    much care regularly.

    Therefore, it is

    desirable sincerely

    to share the benefits,

    blessings,

    and changed

    lives that God has

    granted you in your

    life of faith

    with the person

    through your various

    testimonies.

    6) The most important

    thing for evangelists

    is patience.

    “Therefore I endure

    everything for the

    sake of the elect,

    that they too may

    obtain the salvation

    that is in Christ Jesus,

    with eternal glory.”

    (Tim 2 : 10)

    In addition, while

    you are working

    on him,

    you will have

    to endure not easily

    disappointed that he

    does not change

    quickly.

    “Let us not become

    weary in doing good,

    for at the proper time

    we will reap

    a harvest if we do

    not give up.”

    (Gal 6 : 9)

    4. Summary

    1. What is evangelism?

    Evangelism is about

    proclaiming the gospel

    of Jesus to unbelievers

    and guiding them

    into salvation.

    2. Why should we

    proclaim the gospel

    of Jesus?

    We problaim Jesus

    in order to lead

    unbelievers to turn

    from sin, walk the

    right path, and

    return to God.

    3. How should we

    proclaim the gospel ?

    : Select a targeted person.

    (1) You must pray to

    select a targeted

    persom to

    evangelize first.

     (2) You must constantly

    pray for him.

     (3) You must take

    the time out to

     meet him.

     (4) You must show

    your own correct

    life of faith.

    (Be a model!)

     (5) You must wait for

     his request or need.

     (6) You must pray together

    and introduce the Lord

    to him or her through

    your own testimony

    of experiencing Jesus.

    4) As an evangelist,

    what do you need

    to be careful of?

    (1) You must not act

    according to your

     feelings or will.

    (2) Be patient and

    do not rush.

    (3) You must pray

    while entrusting

    it to God.

    5) Have time to share

    your testimonies

    of how you have

    been evangelized

    and become

    believers.

    (Ex : 3)

    (Prisilla's testimony)

    5. Conclusion

    Those who evangelize

    should try to control

    themselves and rule over

    their own feelings.

    So, you shouldn't

    be very ups and

     downs or moody.

    And you shouldn't walk

    one step ahead of

    the Holy Spirit or

    give up easily with

    your own feelings.

    George Muller,

    who was called the

    father of  orphans, said

    that in November 1844,

    he chose five people

    with his heart and

    prayed for each one

    of them for salvation

    of each.

    But, he said he asked

    God to guide each one

    of them into the way

     to salvation every day,

    but one of them

    was evangelized

    in one year

    and two months,

    another in five years,

    and even another

    in six years,

    and the other two

    received the Lord

    just before their death.

    Therefore, we can see

    that it takes long patience

    to guide one person

    to the Lord through

    evangelism

    “But do not forget

    this one thing, dear friends:

    With the Lord a day

    is like a thousand years,

    and a thousand years

    are like a day.

    The Lord is not slow

    in keeping his promise,

    as some understand

    slowness.

    He is patient with you,

    not wanting anyone

    to perish, but everyone

      to come to repentance. “

    (2 Peter 3 : 8-9)
