Hezekiah's
Reformation 34
[2 Chro 30:1-12]
/ Anne's Faith Column
/ By pastor Priscilla
King Hezekiah
who had determined
to celebrate the
Passover invite
his people in
all over Israel,
not just Judah
and the Passover
was celebrated with
those who responded
to the invitation.
Hezekiah tried to
celebrate the Passover
that his father had
not been able to keep.
Also, for spiritual
restoration,
he decided to
undertake the
Reformation.
Sometimes,
dogmatic behaviors
hurt the majority.
However, he did not
decide on this by himself,
but discussed with
the whole congregation,
taking into account
all circumstances.
In this way,
Hezekiah showed not
only his unwavering
determination
but also his abi;ity
also his ability to excel
in the leadership.
When Hezekiah
invited his people
to celebrate the Passover,
many of them laughed,
but some came
and kept the regulations
for the Passover with
a willing spirit to God.
From this, we can find
the principle that
'the one who is
called by God'
or 'the one who is
drawn out by God'
always is sure to
return to Him when
the time comes to him.p
Likewise, we who
are called by God
must realize that
we are sure to live
with the passion
for the Lord in our
hearts for ever
and ever.
Meanwhile, there are
times when we are
ridiculed and persecuted
in the life of following
the Lord,
I realize that
each one of us
must live by relying
only on the Lord,
who is everything in life.
So, I promise to go
forward with the
Word of the Lord.
To do that, the truth
must not be distorted
or altered.
In addition, we will
have to live with
our faith in the Lord
all the time.
Therefore, we must
always be filled with
the Holy Spirit with
God the Holy Spirit.
There should never
be fears from the world
or various anxieties,
worries, and uneasiness
from the environment
into the temple
of the hearts
of each of us,
where Jesus
Christ resides.
Therefore,
the Bible says:
"Above all else,
guard your heart,
for it is the
wellspring of life."
(Psalm 4 : 23)
Furthermore,
in order to have
the qualities of
spiritual leaders like
Hezekiah's leadership
the reform of the heart
must first be preceded
within us.
Above all,
we must strongly
recognize the need
for a 'time of spiritual
rewakening' for
this purpose.
To do that, we will
have to keep in mind
the following points.
1) Hezekiah's reformation
should be ours.
2) We will have to give
our heart to God and
give thanks to God.
3) Each one of us
must imitate Jesus Christ
in the form of a servant
so that we may not
become proud.
Therefore, I want
each one of us to be
one who is willing to
give up our will and
entrust our lives to God.
Prayer
Thank you Lord for
enlightening each
one of us every day.
May each one of us
have the real reform
that King Hezekiah tried!
Amen.
