    Time To Dig A

    New Well For The Soul92

    [Gen 26:12-22]

     / Anne's Faith Column

    / By Priscilla

We who live today must be constantly

supplied with living water that can

quench our thirst in order to keep

    our spirits from being exhausted.

If God wants to bless us,

    no one can stop it.

    When 'Isaac' grew prosperous

due to God's blessing and eventually

    became so wealthy, the Philistines

    who lived nearby envied him

and did not hesitate to stop up,

filling all the wells with earth.

The well was the most necessary

source of their lives at the time.

But in the end, King Abimelech,

the Philistine king, realized that God

was with Isaac and that there was

no way to hinder his life.

On the contrary, he felt a

    sense of crisis and ordered

    Isaac to leave.

    Even when they pushed Isaac

    into trouble, God provided him

with the water he needed so that

a spring would burst out wherever

he dug a well from where he stayed.

    Sometimes, when God's answers

and blessings come, we may be

    ostracized by unbelievers or people

of faith, or we may be interrupted

by important things, so the source

of supply is blocked like Isaac.

    However, living as Christians,

we are comforted by thinking of God

who led Isaac to victory with the

urgent voice of the Philistine king:

    `Leave us,' and who supplied

    the pioneers of faith.

Even when they envy us and

something wrong comes  up to  us,

    we should never be disappointed.

That’s  because  every time of crisis,

the Almighty God is with us, and the

people who are harassing the children

of God will be sure to surrender.

Do you have a difficult situation

due to obstacles in your life?

If so, believe in the power and voice

of the Almighty God who actually

bursts out the spring of the blocked

    problem and supplies the

    living water for us.

    Although the Philistines envied Issac

and interfered with his life and even

    took away all the possessions

he had worked for, he did not

    complain about the whole

    environment and situation.

    Once God makes his mind,

there is no one in this world

    who can stop God's blessing.

The fact that wherever Issac dug

a well, water sprang up, tells us

    that his life changed surprisingly

after he offered a sacrifice of

obedience to be willing to give

his life through his father Abraham.

Furthermore, it proves to all of us

that he received much help from

God in his life, and that he was

    blessed with prosperity

    in the favor of God.

    If you are blocked with

    obstacles in your life,

it is time to dig a new well.

We should also not be disappointed

or discouraged every time we dig

a new well in the land that

    the Lord has given us.

    When we, like Issac, experience

the Lord in our lives, those who

envy us and harass us, seeing

    our attitude, can no longer

    use their strength,

    on the   contrary,

    they will voluntarily

    confess to us:

    "Please leave us."

    Now,

    what kind of posture should

we take if it's time to dig the

    well for a new soul?

    1) We should only trust in

     God and move forward.

Then, we will be able to look to

the Lord without fear and doubt.

    2) We should not be complaining

    or disappointed even if the

    environment is bad because

    of our neighbors who don't

    understand us.

    3) We should not be easily

     distracted by our surroundings.

    We should experience the

    protection of God through

    worship, praise, and

    obedience,

    and overcome

    evil with goodness.

We believe that when we offer

    sacrifices to God every moment

    with thanksgiving, God will truly

    be pleased with our sacrifices

    and will be personally

    involved in our lives.

    Prayer

    Thank you, Lord!

We feel the need for living

    water every day.

When we dig a well in a new

    environment so that our souls

    may not be exhausted,

    please revive our souls,

and above all, Lord be with us.

    Amen.
