Life Of A Disciple 4
[Lk 14:26-27]
/ Paul's Special
Lecture On The
Bible
/ By Paul
2) When we live a life to
bear fruit, that will be a
life of discipleship.
"This is to my Father's glory,
that you bear much fruit,
showing yourselves
to be my disciples."
[Jn 15:8]
The fruit has two areas.
One is
“the fruit of
the internal realm,”
which is the
“fruit of repentance”
(Matt 3:8) and the
“fruit of the Spirit”
(Gal 5:22).
Another is
“the fruit of the
external realm”
and there is the
“fruit of the gospel”.
"I tell you, open your eyes
and look at the fields!
They are ripe for harvest.
Even now the reaper
draws his wages, even
now he harvests the crop
for eternal life, so that
the sower and the reaper
may be glad together."
[Jn 4:35-36]
The inner fruit is
'a matter of maturity',
and the outward fruit
is a matter of 'reward'.
When children are young,
they want to have their
own way, but when
they become adults,
they try to do what
their parents want.
Likewise,
when we mature
in faith,
we try to live
the Lord's will and that
is the life of evangelism.
When we are immature
in faith, we only speak
before our actions.
However, when our faith
are matured, we act first.
Immature in faith tries
to focus on 'quantity',
but,
maturity in it focuses
on 'content'.
While immaturity ends
with just 'leading',
maturity takes care
of the 'guided one'
until they stand right
in the faith.
While immaturity ends
with 'leading', maturity
takes care of 'until it
stands upright'.
This is because the motive
of evangelism is 'love'.
