The Days of
Punishment... 111
And The Days of
Reckoning !
[Hos 9:1-9]
/ Anne's Faith Column
/ By Priscilla
Regarding Israelites' sins,
God, who had long tolerated
their sins, finally told them
in the words of God's
prophecy
through Hosea that since
they did not turn away
from their sins and their
wickedness had been greater,
there would definitely be a
corresponding judgment
on them.
Israelites, unable to escape
judgment due to their sins,
were predicted to have
a day of punishment
and a day of reckoning.
Likewise, we also need to
be alert to God's warning
and turn away from sins.
Sin destroys the
relationship with God.
The Israelites gave up
their value to cheap idols
instead of continuing their
relationship with God
in His grace.
All that were left of them
- riches, honor, and all the
basic possessions
of their lives -
God was willing to remove
them from Israelites.
Sin does not satisfy man.
Momentary pleasures
are fleeting and relative,
so they are easily out of
balance.
However,
God is the Almighty and
never changes.
(Hos 9:1-5)
Sin is the root that eventually
leads to punishment.
We must repent before God
to escape from this sinful nature
and not lead to unrighteous deeds,
and we must thoroughly
eradicate all our sins by
confessing all of our
detestable deeds.
(Hos 9:6-9)
We must throw away
our unclean thoughts,
greed, and arrogance
and face ourselves
honestly before God.
We should not disguise
ourselves, but we should be
ones like innocent children
who are willing to go before
God as we are, even though
we are human beings
with sin and guilt.
If God chose each of us
and formed each of us
from the womb, there is
no need to ask if we
should become creatures
that give glory to God.
It is impossible for us
to escape from sin
ourselves.
However, since we are
in the hand of the LORD,
we should live a life where
we please God, which will
be a joy to people and a
glory to Heavenly Father.
What should
we do for it then?
1) If there is widespread sin
and strong hostility in us,
let's leave them to God
and pray that He will
destroy them.
2) Let's ask the Holy
Spirit to be free from sin.
3) Let's take the attitude
of immediately preparing
for the days of punishment
and the days of reckoning.
Prayer
Lord!
As long as I breathe
and live on this earth,
may you guide me so that
I never go against you!
Let the
Lord's Second Coming
come true and be a reunion
of joy for us. Amen.
Amen
