A Life That Bears Fruit 112

Through Obedience

/ Consequences of

Disobedience

[Hos 9:10-17]

 / Anne's Faith Column

/ By Priscilla

Today's scripture warned

that as a result of disobedience,

Israelites would be thrown

out of God's hand and

be in danger of breaking

the relationship with God.

Why were Israelites cast out

of the hand of Almighty God?

It was the result of

their disobedience.

The faithful God fulfilled

His promises and covenants

in His appointed time,

as He had already

promised to their

ancestors.

However, God warned

that He would destroy

the Israelites in the end

 because of their rebellion.

It was because no matter

how much they tried to

solve their problems

and save their lives in

human ways, there was

no fruit in their lives.

I feel heartbreaking

when I feel the

heart of God.

The glory of Israel had

flown away like a bird.

The Israelites no longer

had a vision.

There was only punishment

for their sins and judgment

corresponding to their sins.

God let them know in

advance that they could

no longer have their

promised

future due to their

wickedness and sins.

As a result

of their disobedience,

their future would be

wandering around

the world.

In the end, the Israelites,

who started out with

hope along with God's

covenant, would turn

into a miserable

end of life.

Those who were supposed

to give glory to God worshiped

idols and fell into beings

like beasts and worms.

We should definitely

ask God that our lives

will not be like theirs.

If our toil and sweat

are in vain and consequently

show no meaning in our lives,

what else could be more

helpless than this?

I hope that the passion,

strength, and effort we

pour out in the Lord

will be the best we put

forth to glorify God.

What should we do for this?

1) We must ask God to change

us into people who trust

and obey God more

earnestly.

2) We must follow and

practice the goodness

of God for a fruitful life.

Prayer

Lord!

Please open my spiritual

eyes so that I may bear

more fruits of obedience

for You.

And please keep my faith

so that I may not bring

about the consequences

of disobedience!

Amen
