Don't  Forget God 110

/ The Fate Of Israelites

Who Forgot God

[Hos 8:8-14]

 / Anne's Faith Column

/ By Priscilla

The Israelites had forsaken God,

worshiped idols, and had done

evil like wild donkeys left alone.

Hosea prophesies that Israel

will waste away under

God's wrath,

and God will punish

Israelites for their sin of

neglecting God's law

and that

the condition of slavery,

like the situation in Egypt in

the past, will come again

quickly.

God provided abundant

resources for Israelites,

but they betrayed God

and worshiped idols,

bringing their own

destruction among

the nations.

Then,

what will be the fate of

Israelites who forgot God?

(Hos 8:10)

Although they have

sold themselves among the

nations to make the nations

their side, God knows

that if he scatters them

at once, the Israelites

 will quickly waste away.

In the same way, if we

neglect God's blessings

and easily forget God,

we will find ourselves

in the same situation

as them.

God tells us today not to

rely on people more

than God.

Only we must not forget

for a moment the God of

salvation, the Rock God,

and the Holy Spirit who

personally guides us.

We must become children

who make God happy so that

God who repays a man for

what he has done may

not be sad.

Israel eventually forgot

the Creator who created it.

Both the Kingdom of Israel

and the Kingdom of Judah

forgot God and built

abominable

palaces

of idols, committing

acts of betraying God.

We must keep thi

s in mind today,

stand firmer,

and remember that it

is time to increase our

faith before God.

Even though

we are so weak,

we must earnestly cry out

to God so that we can meet

Him wholeheartedly.

God will watch our

willingness to strive

to know the Lord.

So what should we do?

1) Let's pay more sensitive

attention to the words

God has given us.

2) We must eliminate

human methods, only

hope for God's face,

and recognize that God

has the arm of power.

3) We must become the

children of God who

remembers Him all the

time and do not forget

his benefits.

We must not serve God

together along with

wrongdoing.

Prayer

Lord!

Lead us on the

way of honesty!

From the

depths of my heart,

I look to the Lord more

wholeheartedly.

Amen
