The Attitude of God's

People 102

[Hos 1:6-2:10]

 / Anne's Faith Column

/ By Priscilla

The unfaithful Israelites

worshiped idols and disobeyed

to God, just like Hosea's wife

Gomer, who was adulterous.

Although they were chosen

as God's people, they were

unfaithful people.

God would stop mercy to them,

but God continued to intervene

with the house of Israel and

the house of Judah.

In today's scripture, God

figuratively showed how

unfaithful the Israelites were

to God through 'Gomer'

Hosea, like God, showed

love to Gomer endlessly.

That is, he showed

the heart of God.

Nevertheless, her wife,

Gomer, gave birth to two children

by other men: Lo-Ruhamah

and Lo-Ammi.

The name Lo-Ruhamah means

that God will no longer show

love to the house of Israel.

Lo-Ammi means that

you are not my people,

and I am not your God.

In other words,

it means 'to be forsaken.

Therefore, God tells us,

His children, not to be

unfaithful to God

and to behave like an

adulterous woman for

 temporary pleasure,

but to confess before

God what we love more than

God and to remove them all.

As God's people, God no

longer wants us to sin against

Him by being unfaithful.

God is so good and wants

to bless each of us now.

Is there any meaning in our lives

if God's grace and favor are

taken away from us?

When we exalt God to

the highest level and only

want to give glory to God

while we are living on

this earth,

God will be pleased with

this and will be happy to

accept our devotion

in our lives.

And we should think about

what we must do to become

His people who please God.

How hard must it have

been for God to raise

each of us?

How many times have we

made God anxious about us

since we have thrown tantrums

to Him before God, not knowing

or recognizing the crisis?

Like Gomer, we once lived

adulterous lives, but now

we must live in an attitude

of obedience and trust,

giving thanks to God for

His extreme love.

Prayer

Thank you, Lord.

Please help us to become

God's people who never forget

the grace you have given us!

Amen
