God Who Rules

According To His Will! 89

(Why Is This Happening

To Me?) [Gen 25:1-26]

 / Anne's Faith Column

/ By Priscilla

Abraham took a second wife

and had children, but he gave

all his possessions to Isaac.

Even after Abraham died,

God blessed Isaac.

He granted all his wishes

and blessed him in response.

Among the many descendants,

God blessed 'Isaac' for obedience

and answered his prayer.

When Isaac obeyed his father,

God had already been pleased

with the attitude of Abraham

and Isaac in the land of Moriah,

so he gave him more

blessing as the elect.

God became his

“Jehovah Nissi”

(The LORD Is my Banner.)

“Jehovah yirrh”

(The LORD will provide)

Isaac prayed to God when

he knew that his wife Rebekah

was barren, and God opened

her womb.

When she learned that she

would give birth to twin boys herself,

Rebekah inquired of the LORD God:'

Why is this happening to me?

God prophesied to her and

made her know of God's

providence, saying,

"The older will serve the younger."

There are times in our lives when

we have the following questions:

'Why is this happening to me?'

Also, in such situations,

we should inquire of God.

In order to make the right choice,

we must fully cry out to God and

wait until the Lord gives

us an answer.

There are times when we can be led

into temptation through our closest

blood ties or acquaintances.

Although we may be discouraged

and have a hard time in our hearts,

we must be confident that there

is no temptation we cannot bear

if we are with the Lord, relying only

on God who rules according to

His will, and we must go forward.

What should we do, then?

1) We should rely more on

sovereign God, who rules

according to His will.

2) We must put all our worries

and anxieties in our lives on God

and go forward, relying on God totally.

Prayer

Heavenly Father!

I always want to entrust all

my worries and anxieties to you.

I look to the sovereign God who

guides me in the right way and

rules according to His will.

Whenever the problem of

'Why is this happening to me?'

comes up to my reality,

please guide me to rely

more on the Lord.

Amen
