Never Again 62

(Amazing God's

Covenant!)

[Gen 8:13-22]

/ Anne's Faith Column

/  By Priscilla

"By the first day of the

first month of Noah's

six hundred and first year,

the water had dried up

from the earth.

Noah then removed

the covering from the ark

and saw that the surface

 of the ground was dry.

By the twenty-seventh day

of the second month

the earth was completely dry.

Then God said to Noah,

 "Come out of the ark,

you and your wife and

your sons and their wives.

Bring out every kind of

living creature that is with you

--the birds, the animals,

and all the creatures

that move along the ground

--so they can multiply

on the earth and be

fruitful and increase

 in number upon it."

So Noah came out,

together with his sons

and his wife and his

 sons' wives.

All the animals and

all the creatures that

move along the ground

and all the birds-

-everything that moves

on the earth--came

out of the ark, one kind

after another.

Then Noah built an altar

to the LORD and, taking

some of all the clean

 animals

and clean birds,

he sacrificed burnt

offerings on it.

 The LORD smelled

the pleasing aroma

and said in his heart:

"Never again will

I curse the ground

because of man,

even though every

inclination of his heart

is evil from childhood.

And never again

will I destroy all living

creatures, as I have done.

As long as the earth

endures, seedtime

and harvest, cold

and heat, summer

and winter, day and

  night will never cease."

(Gen 8:13-22)

Noah was in the ark,

believing that God's promise

was able to be fulfilled,

sending out a dove,

and God valued him.

God let Noah bring

all living creatures

out of the ark,

He smelled the pleasing

aroma of Noah's sacrifice,

and gave a new covenant

to him who obeyed Him.

God also hoped that

every kind of living creature

that was with Noah can

multiply on the earth

and be fruitful and

increase in number

upon it.

Noah built

an altar to the LORD

and the LORD smelled

the pleasing aroma

and said with a new

and amazing covenant:

"Never again will I curse

the ground because of man."

Through this we learn

that we need our hearts

that truly please God

above all else.

God has promised that

all things in nature will

operate without breaking

the rules and without

ceasing, which is a truly

amazing covenant.

This is a scene where

Noah's obedient attitude

and God's love are in

beautiful harmony.

In this way, how should

we serve God in order

to become so-called

people after God's own

heart and who can arouse

the inspiration of God?

1) We desperately need a life

of surrendering everything

to Heavenly Father's will

rather than our own decisions.

2) To break free from

stereotypes, we must rid

ourselves of religious laziness,

mannerisms, and paranoia.

3) By imitating Noah's

obedience attitude and his

attitude to serve God,

we should ask the Holy Spirit

to help us become believers

whose eyes of faith can

be opened.

Therefore, at this time,

we should examine

our religious life

and pray that we will

eradicate the wrong

behaviors that can be ills

of our faith one by one

before the Lord.

Prayer

Lord!

Your grace is so great

 that I am overwhelmed.

I am always grateful

that You love us,

Your children, as You

did with Noah.

Help us to live with

the new covenant that

you have already granted us!

Amen
